About me

For me the handpan sound is like a river, flowing, moving countless rhythms and melodies in one giant stream . But the instrument itself is like a mirror. Opaque, sitting between me and the flow. It reflects back the exact same energy I put in it. Sometimes harsh and forceful, sometimes gentle and more refined. And the less of my own conscious self I put in it, the more transparent it gets. Then I can see the river. I can even touch it. Put my hands in it. I can't stay there for long yet. I am still tethered to the shore. But I can feel the flow, it's there! And what was once a mirror is now the raft that dances on the waves.
